The game will launch for Nintendo Switch on December 12, 2024, and it’ll be both in Japanese and English. The point of the game is simulating the air traffic control operations of a major international airport.

As the name implies, the main difference from the previous game is that the setting shifts from the airport of Tokyo Haneda (where funnily I happen to be sitting right now as I write) to Chubu Centrair (RJGG) serving the area of Nagoya, Japan.

This is the first time Centrair appears in the series, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the airport which will come on February 17, 2025.

Below you can enjoy a trailer showing the game in action.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Airport Hero series, it’s a console spin-off developed under license by SonicPowered of the famous “I am an Air Traffic Controller” (also known as “Bokukan”) series by Technobrain, which is available on PC (including Steam).

Incidentally, you may know Technobrain for its excellent airports for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

This new game of the series introduces holds, the 747 LCF Dreamlifter (which often visits Centrair to serve its industrial surroundings), and the DHC8-400 regional turboprop.

You can also take a recreation of the Bus Tour that shows off the airport in the real world, and check out the Reference Room for more information and pictures of Centrair.

Unfortunately, it appears that the real-life liveries and airlines that were featured in the previous Haneda-focused game, this time around we get fictional ones, pretty much like the Steam version of I am an Air Traffic Controller.

If you love aviation, you’re likely interested in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, which releases on November 19, 2024, you can enjoy our hands-on preview with plenty of interesting details for your perusal.

You can also watch our interview with Head of MSFS Jorg Neumann and Asobo CEO Sebastian Wloch, another with Asobo CCO David Dedeine, and one featuring Chris Burnett of Working Title and Brandon Yaeger of Got Friends about their work on MSFS 2024.

Last, but not least, you can take a look at our A-10 flight through the Grand Canyon, our first look at the extensive pilot customization, another at the first mission of the Career Mode, a video featuring the new walk-around move showing off a Boeing 737 MAX up close and personal, and a challenge with the A-10 over the Blue Ridge Mountains.
