Vector Studio surprised the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 community by coming out of nowhere and announcing a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Yet, there’s more to this than meets the eye.
While the brand is new, the studio is made up of over twenty industry veterans led by Ellie, who played a significant role in developing many of the aircraft we have flown in multiple simulators over the past several years.
At FSWeekend in Lelystad, the Netherlands, Simulation Daily caught up with Ellie, who kindly provided us with plenty of insight into the studio and the Boeing 787 project.
While Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has a few 787s, including a -10 version among its default aircraft, plus a couple of third-party options, we definitely don’t have one that can be counted among the top payware aircraft available to the simulation in terms of systems depth and simulation complexity.
Vector’s announcement and the following partial reveal shared yesterday on stage at FS Weekend ignited within the community the hope that we may finally fly a high-definition Dreamliner in MSFS 2024, and the developer is confident that it’ll come by the end of this year.
While the project is ambitious, what we have seen so far is promising, and Ellie certainly makes a strong case in favor of the project.
The jury is still out on whether Vector will succeed, as we won’t know for sure until the aircraft release, you can hear from Ellie herself in the video below, and set your expectations for yourself.
