At Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany, Simulation Daily had a chat with Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann about the new content released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and the future of the sim.

Neumann had a lot to share, including a discussion about the newly released Sim Update 3, the City Update 12 featuring more German cities, and the Local Legend 21, the Eurocopter EC135, all of which were provided at no additional cost to all MSFS 2024 users.

Yet, we also heard quite a bit about the future, including the near-term, with a tease of something “really special” that the developers of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 have in store for Tokyo Game Show 2025 in late September.

Further in the future, Neumann discussed the highly coveted shared cockpit, the licensing of liveries from real-world airlines, upcoming world updates some of which will be “unexpected,” the return of Reno (actually not Reno anymore) Air Races to MSFS 2024, the outlook for the rest of the year and beyond, and more.

There is a lot on the menu, so without further ado, I leave you with the interview, which you can enjoy below. As usual, leaving a like and a comment and subscribing to our growing YouTube channel is extremely helpful.
