Today Sony Interactive Entertainment and Kojima Productions hosted a panel at Tokyo Game Show and had a few reveals to share about Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
We start with the presentation of the Japanese voice actors for the cast, introduced by Hideo Kojima himself.
They are as follows:
- Kenjiro Tsuda: Sam
- Nana Mizuki: Fragile
- Tomokazu Sugita: Dollman
- Shion Wakayama: Tomorrow
- Mitsuru Miyamoto: Tarman
- Satoshi Mikami: Higgs
You can listen to them in action in the video below.
The next video introduces a new character, Rainy, played by Shioli Kutsuna. You can see her interact with Sam, Dollman, and Tomorrow.
We then get to see the return of Nicolas Winding Refn as Heartman with a special video to celebrate Tokyo Game Show.
The game will feature a rather innovative photo mode that Kojima-san calls “Photo Shot Event.” The characters will perform poses independently like in a real photoshoot while the player controls the camera.
We learn that the jacket worn by the Drawbridge crew has been designed in collaboration with Acronym and is actually available for purchase in the real world on the company’s website.
Of course, the price is unabashedly bonkers, selling at €1,540. Personally, I think I’ll pass, but your mileage may vary.
Lastly, we get the introduction of a dance performance featuring Dollman performing “Horizon Dreamer,” a new song by singer and songwriter Daichi Miura created for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
Death Stranding 2 will release in 2025. For now, only the PlayStation 5 version has been announced.
