Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 brings you closer to the action by letting you perform a pre-flight inspection on your aircraft with what pilots call a “walk-around.”
Basically, you can walk around the aircraft checking out the various parts for wear and tear (which will accumulate as you fly), opening and closing hatches, and removing protective covers and wheel chocks.
Not only this is something that pilots actually do in the real world (with some caveats), but it provides you with a new perspective on your aircraft, and a new sense of scale that isn’t present in other simulators.
In MSFS 2024, you’re effectively the pilot, while in previous simulators you’re basically the aircraft. This changes the perspective quite radically, and in my opinion, improves immersion massively.

Of course, you should continue to stick around here on Simulation Daily, because there is going to be a lot more Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 coverage on the site over the next few days, including more gameplay footage.
