Today, Dovetail Games revealed that Train Sim World 5 will be coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 17, 2024, and that it will be available on Xbox Game Pass. The news of this exciting new simulator was conveyed through a trailer shown off earlier today, which you can see at the bottom of the page.
Alongside a brief look into what fans can expect from the next installment in the series, it was also revealed that anyone with the Starter Pack will be able to bring over any routes or trains they’ve purchased from previous games. This DLC will be free for the first 30 days of Train Sim World 5’s launch, so be sure to get it while you can.
Train Sim World was first released in 2017 and has come out annually ever since, featuring seven titles under various different names. The aim of the game is pretty straightforward, as it allows players to create a diverse array of routes and ride some of the most infamous ones in the world. This takes you through everything from bustling cities to steep mountain passes, showcasing no terrain too difficult for a train to cross.
Train Sim World 5 will be available in the following editions:
- Standard – $49.99
- Deluxe Edition – $74.99
- Special Edition – $119.99
Each edition can be pre-ordered with a discount of at least 10 percent across all platforms. Deluxe and Special Editions grant five days of early access to the game and decals. For more info on Train Sim World 5, be sure to check back to the site for updates.
