With the release of the Jurassic World: Archipelago add-on for Xbox and PC on the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 official marketplace, Orbx also deployed an update, including an interesting mini-campaign.

The Jurassic World: Archipelago Rescue Pack takes a different approach compared to the missions available before, providing a connected narrative experience spanning a couple of days for the pilots of Jurassic World as they put their lives on the line to help out scientists and try to make it out in one piece with a violent storm approaching and hostile dinosaurs on the prowl.

While this isn’t your usual Microsoft Flight Simulator experience, it’s certainly a nice treat for Jurassic World fans, and it can contribute to drawing new blood into the flight simulation hobby, a process that Microsoft itself has initiated since the release of MSFS in 2020 and continued to this day.

So, let’s see what this mini campaign has to offer. I flew the missions myself, and you can watch the videos below.

If you want to fly the same mission and enjoy the rest of the content of Jurassic World: Archipelago, you can find it on Orbx Direct for PC only, or on the official Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 marketplace for both Xbox and PC.

It’s worth mentioning that a version for MSFS 2020 is also coming, and I would be surprised if it didn’t make its way over to the PS5 after the port launches on December 8, 2025.

If you want to learn how this add-on came to be, you can read our interview with Orbx CEO Anna Cicognani, and if you’re a Jurassic World fan but you’re new to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, you can check out our extensive video and written guide on how to explore and enjoy the Jurassic World Archipelago, teaching you the basics of flight on the islands.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is available for PC and Xbox Series X|S. If you’d like to learn more, you can check out our recent interview with Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann.

If you’re hungry for more flight simulation news, you can find plenty in our latest roundup article from yesterday.

If you want to go further back, we have a handy overview video of the major flight simulation news in the past week. You can watch it below. As usual, leaving a like and a comment and subscribing to our growing YouTube channel is extremely helpful.
