Today, the developers of Skyblivion, the fan remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, have released a new video showing plenty of impressive gameplay.

Many may wonder what the point of releasing Skyblivion may be when the official remaster was launched a few months ago, but the video answers exactly this question.

While the developers acknowledge that the official remaster “impressively upgrades textures and assets,” Skyblivion is a “full-scale remake that reimagines Oblivion from the ground up, bringing it in line with modern RPGs.”

It introduces “entirely newly designed areas, dungeons, cities, dungeons, gameplay enhancements, and much more.” On top of that, “every fort, cave, and landscape has been thoughtfully redesigned.”

The goal is to “breathe new life into a beloved classic.”

So, when is it coming? The remake is in the “final stretch” of development, and while a release date won’t be announced today, the developers are confident that it’ll come in 2025 as previously announced.

The video showcases just how far the reimagination has gone in areas like the Gold Coast, Anvil, Kvatch, the Deadlands, and the other Realms of Oblivion.

The developers also restored the ruined city of Sutch, which was cut from the original Oblivion.

On top of that, we also get to see unique weapons that have finally been given truly unique models and attacks, on top of armors that also accommodate the beast races. Clothing and jewelry have also been reimagined.

You can watch the video below.

While the developers say the journey is nearly at its end, they’re always welcoming volunteers to speed things up, and those who have useful skills can apply on the official website.

Incidentally, we also get the confirmation that after release, work will begin on Oblivion’s DLC.

While we wait for more information, you can also check out an earlier video. Incidentally, we’ll get to see the Imperial City in the next video.
