According to the press release, net sales were 1,241,513 million yen, up 18.2% year-on-year. Operating profit was 180,229 million yen, a whopping 98.7% increase year-on-year.

In the Digital Business, which includes video games, the growth ratio was even bigger. Sales were 455,633 million yen (up 22.3% year-on-year), and segment profit was 68,527 million yen (up 995.1% year-on-year)

We learn that both the catalogue sales of Elden Ring and the sales of the DLC Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree were strong. On top of that, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero has now sold 5.4 million copies worldwide and is considered a hit.

During the fiscal year, Bandai Namco sold 11.92 million units of new games and 28.84 million units of games released in previous fiscal years.

We also read that in preparation for the mid-term plan that started in April 2025, the company aimed to develop games that could meet the expectations of fans who value quality. Bandai Namco also worked to build a balanced and optimal title portfolio and to strengthen its development structure.

Speaking of the new mid-term plan, the company set three main themes: “further expansion of business scale,” “acquisition of new
business pillars,” and “establishment of a structure to generate long-term profits.”

Based on these, four more key themes have been set: “creating good products,” “expand further,” “continue to grow,” and “polish and increase depth.” Further themes are also to “strengthen alliances” and “utilize diverse human resources.”

In order to “create good products,” Bandai Namco intends to strengthen IP co-creation from a new perspective with external creators, studios, and IP holders. In addition, the company will promote efficiency in terms of creation, development, and production, and work on higher quality “crafting.”

To “expand further” in the field of games, the company wants to further strengthen its structure for coordinating worldwide marketing in Japan and abroad, speeding up decision-making and information sharing.

To “continue to grow,” Bandai Namco wants to develop strong, widely loved brands that will last a long time. This includes expanding the licensing business of gaming brands like “The Idol Master” and “Pac-Man.”

Speaking of games in particular, the company aims to “establish and strengthen the power of its brands by expanding the popularity of game series, continuing to develop said series, and making effective use of them.”

In terms of “polishing and increasing depth,” Bandai Namco wants to actively promote research and the utilization of new technologies through discussions
and collaboration between external partners, its own studios, and its research and development department.
