Today Capcom released the first gameplay and the release date of the next guest DLC character coming to Street Fighter 6, Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury.
She will come to the game on February 5, 2025.
If you’re unfamiliar with Mai Shiranui, whose looks in the game were teased a few weeks ago, she’s one of the most popular and iconic fighters featured in SNK’s old and glorious Fatal Fury series.
She is also a regular playable character in The King of Fighters and even appeared in a number of spin-offs.
She will come as a guest character for Street Fighter 6 as part of the year 2 lineup of new content following M. Bison and Terry Bogard, who is also from the Fatal Fury series. Elena is also coming after Mai in the spring of 2025.
You can check out how she fights in Street Fighter 6 in the trailer below, including her English voice-over. If you’d rather listen to her Japanese voice, you can find the Japanese trailer on the official YouTube channel.
As the earlier tease showcased, Capcom pretty much kept her looks untouched, besides translating her into Street Fighter 6’s character design style.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. An arcade version is also currently available in Japan.
Incidentally, the crossover won’t just go one way but it’ll work both ways. Back in September 2024 at Tokyo Game Show, we learned that Ken and Chun-Li from the Street Fighter Series will appear in SNK’s upcoming fighting game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
