My Time at Sandrock Online has launched on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, joining the already available multiplayer platform on Xbox and PC. Crossplay is also available between all the platforms, uniting Sandrock players across every platform for the first time.
The game’s multiplayer was already available for Xbox and PC players. now, the last systems that the game is available on have joined the fray.
My Time at Sandrock Online is technically a separate launcher from the single-player version of the game. Players can visit the store on their consoles to download My Time at Sandrock Online for free (as long as they’ve purchased the base game).
As with other multiplayer games in the genre, there is a bit of a learning curve to playing with friends. Money is shared between players, and the main story doesn’t exist. When playing in multiplayer, the goal is to rebuild Sandrock and explore the desert. However, players can still befriend and romance residents. There are also public and private chests for players to use to manage items between them.
It’s basically a sandbox game mode that players can take on in solo or groups of up to four. Players can also join random towns that are open to the public, which is great for players who may not have friends with the game yet.
My Time at Sandrock released a trailer to celebrate the news, which players can view below:
