HoYoverse held its Special Program for Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0, revealing many of the new details about the upcoming version, including more information about the brand-new region, Roscaelifer, new exploration mechanics, a permanent game mode, and more.
To kick things off, in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0, Proxies will travel to the floating island of Roscaelifer to treat an Ether anomaly in their body, a hidden power known as Pyrois. While they’re there, an ongoing controversy surrounding Bangboo chips, Bangboo self-destruction incidents, and fluctuations in the Energy Hub’s Hollows are also going on.
A few days ago, HoYoverse shared nearly ten minutes of gameplay in Roscaelifer. The area’s inhabitants are about 70% Bangboos, and it offers a calmer urban landscape than that of New Eridu.

Proxies are guided by Velina, the Administrative Director of the External Strategy Department, who’s also joining the game as the first five-star Wind character. In combat, Velina will accumulate Wind Anomaly on enemies, which will cause them to enter the Windswept state. When another Attribute Anomaly is applied to a target alongside Windswept, then a Vortex is created that deals AoE damage (particularly damage of the other Attribute Anomaly).
If a player’s team has two characters of the same Anomaly or Agents of the same attribute, then Velina’s Windswept and Vortex damage is increased. Her release will also come with a limited outfit in the shop.
Additionally, S-Rank Fire Stun Agent Norma is also being released in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0. As the External Strategy Department’s Chief Technician, her combat revolves around her hat that accumulates Preheated Chamber (both on and off field).
When Preheated Chamber reaches a certain point, Norma can turn her allies’ Quick Assists into Chain Attacks, which creates more Chain Attacks for the squad.
Velina and Ye Shunguang, and their respective W-Engines, will have banners for the first half of Version 3.0. Norma and Sunna, and their respective W-Engines, will have banners on the second half.
However, that’s not all the characters that are coming. Phaethon faction Agent Pyrois will also be part of Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0, and players will receive them for free once they progress through the story.

Roscaelifer also introduces several new exploration mechanics, where they can take control of surveillance cameras and control drones with the Universal Terminal. There’s also plenty of new places to explore in Roscaelifer, too, and an Aerial Transit system lets players ride around using Pyrois.
Additionally, a new collection system called Interboo will keep a record of everything that players find, giving rewards for exploration (including Polychromes).
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 will also introduce a new permanent gameplay mode called Bangbang! The Genius and the Miracle Chip. It lets players build and control Collaboorater squads to do chip research missions.
The Annihilation Simulacrum is also launching a new permanent battle mode with high-difficulty bosses that have no elemental weaknesses or resistances. This will test players on their understanding and execution of gameplay and team mechanics.
There will also be several limited-time events throughout Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0, which will gift a Tuning Calibrator, a W-Engine, Polychromes, a title, and more.
Version 3.0 will also be the second anniversary update, and players can look forward to 1,600 Polychromes as a reward. 600 Polychromes will be sent out after logging in after the update, and the remaining 1,000 will be sent to players on July 4, the day of the second anniversary.
There are also several optimizations coming with the new version. To start with, a Drive Disc Smart discard function will let players process unwanted Drive Discs at once. The Drive Disc Tuning interface will also prioritize sets that are from active training plans.
Additionally, protagonist outfit accessories (like headwear, hair accessories, earrings, and glasses) are being separated into universal items. This lets players mix and match them across all outfits.
There’s also a PC-specific visual update for compatible hardware: a real-time global illumination.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 is scheduled to launch on June 17, 2026, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and mobile devices. At the same time, Zenless Zone Zero is launching on Steam.
