HoYoverse has revealed details surrounding Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2, including its release date, new characters, events, and more.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2 will take players into the heart of the conflict with the Exaltists, this time bringing the Obol Squad with it. The two new characters are from the new faction: Seed and Orphie “Magus.”
Seed is an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent who uses the Seed Sr. mecha to overpower enemies and suppress their powers. She synergizes well with other Attack agents.
Orphie, or “Magus,” is an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent and the captain of the Obol Squad. She deploys lasers, has an EX Special Attack that assists teammates, and can boost allies’ attacks. At the same time, she can make it so that the enemy’s Defense is ignored.
The S-Rank Bangboo Mercury will be joining Zenless Zone Zero as well.
Joining the new characters will be the return of S-Rank Agents Trigger and Evelyn.
There will be two events coming with Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2: Band of Brave Bangboo and Rythm Rave.
The Band of Brave Bangboo is a returning event with new maps, mechanics, and enemies. This includes a map surrounded by Miasma and bushes for more strategy. After clearing the event, players can claim the A-Rank Bangboo Excaliboo, which will attack enemies after attempting to draw its sword in battle.
The Rhythm Rave event will offer rewards to players who can sync beats with in-game tracks.
As for quality of life changes, Version 2.2 offers players the ability to choose between Wise and Belle when starting companion events.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2 will be released on September 4, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android. Fans can watch the trailer for the upcoming version below:
