Zenless Zone Zero, the HoYoverse urban fantasy ARPG, is updating to version 1.3 soon, and details about the new gameplay modes, characters, and story content are finally here. Plus, an action-packed trailer shows everything off.
The 1.3 update is adding two new gameplay modes to ZZZ: The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault and Simulated Battle Trial.
The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault is a roguelike where five chapters are randomly generated. There, players will complete various challenges to unlock resources and rewards, including a brand new A-rank Bangboo, Knightboo.
Simulated Battle Trials is basically a battle tower. Players will challenge each floor, rising through enemies that also become stronger. Each floor offers rewards, and the highest floors give Polychromes, Badges, and new titles. For Genshin Impact players, this is basically the Spiral Abyss.
S-level Agents Yanagi and Lighter are coming with Zenless Zone Zero’s 1.3 update. Yanagi, an Electric-Anomaly Agent, is a naginata user who’s focused on increasing the entire team’s Disorder damage. She also quickly builds up Anomaly before unleashing her Ex Special Attack, which deals a ton of damage.
Lighter is a Fire-Stun Agent who can lower enemies’ Fire and Ice Resistances while stunning them with an unending torrent of punches. He can also increase his strengths and skills once his Morale reaches a certain level.
Yanagi and Light are both major Agents in the 1.3 update’s story mission. Players will have to work with Yanagi in commissions from the Hollow Investigative Association (HIA). At the same time, the celebration of Settlement Days at the Outer Ring is starting, and players will enjoy time with Lighter during those.
Additionally, both Yanagi and Lighter will have Special Episodes that include unique gameplay while exploring the two characters’ stories. Their W-Engines will also be available, the Timeweaver and Blazing Laurel.
A few quality-of-life changes are coming with Version 1.3 as well, including:
- Character Leveling Interface
- Compendium Functions and Interface
- More Decoration Options in Players’ Rooms
These quality-of-life changes are part of the game’s ongoing effort to better the player experience, which started back when the game first came out and HoYoverse released a roadmap through Version 1.2.
Of course, events like Virtual Battlefield Mayhem and When Sandwiches Come A Knockin’ will give players plenty of rewards. Plus, another A-level Bangboo is coming with Knightboo, the Baddieboo.
