Gaijin Entertainment is teasing the next big update for its online simulator-lite War Thunder, and this time around, it’s literally large in more ways than one.

Among the vehicles showcased by the trailer, we get to see the Boeing–Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche helicopter, which is certainly a weird addition considering that only two prototypes were built before the cancellation of the program in 2004.

That being said, the homage to the old Comanche series of video games is certainly sweet.

Moving on to an aircraft that definitely wasn’t canceled, we get to take a look at the super-cool Mitsubishi F-2 Viper Zero, the Japanese “offspring” of the F-16, which is very much still operational within the ranks of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.

Then we move on to the WW2 battleships that give the update its name, the Bismarck, the Iowa, and the Yamato, which will add truly massive scale to the naval component of the game.

More vehicles showcased in the trailer include Swiss F/A-18 Hornet, F-5 Tiger, and Dasault Mirage III, the Czech jet trainer Aero L-39 Albatros, and more.

You can watch the trailer below, and we can certainly say that Gaijin has been faithful to its name and has gone full weeb this time around, not that I’m complaining.

War Thunder is a rather popular free-to-play (with many, many optional microtransactions) online simulator-lite with plenty of aircraft and vehicles to enjoy in ground, air, sea, and mixed battles. You can play it on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
