VRChat Version 2026.2.1 is out now, introducing brand-new Avatar accessories, a third-person view, loading screen updates, and more.
Avatar accessories can be put on your Avatar, and they’ll stay across worlds, unlike items that despawn when you leave a world. They can be things like hats, sunglasses, tails, a halo, wings, and more.
It’s also like adding something directly to an Avatar on Unity, except it’s done from VRChat itself.
There will be a few Accessory collections right now, though more will be added with Shop updates in the future. There are also plans for accessories that aren’t limited in the Shop.
Additionally, VRChat+ members can try out the third-person view on desktops. This is an early access feature that’s planned to last through June. After that, it should be opened up to all VRChat users.
Loading screens have also had a refresh. While the last update gave users the ability to customize their loading screen, this update changes how the UI looks.
There’s also a new feature in Groups that lets users set a minimum avatar performance level to an instance. For more information on that, check out the Developer Update from earlier this month.
There were also plenty of changes and fixes that players can learn about in the official patch notes, including the ability to use Discord Friends on the Android version of VRChat.
As always, players can watch the VRChat Version 2026.2.1 patch notes video below, which also shows off how to use several of the new features:
