VRChat released Version 2025.2.2 with Build 1648, introducing the Avatar Marketplace while also fixing bugs and tweaking a few things in the game.
The Avatar Marketplace gives players a way to buy avatars directly in VRChat. Players have a chance to try on the avatar before purchasing with VRChat Credits.
To check out the styles already there, players can view their Avatars, then go to Explore. The Avatars in the Avatar Marketplace are created and uploaded by VRChat creators.
Prior to this, players had to either create an Avatar in Unity or search through worlds in the game, looking for something that they liked.
There’s an FAQ page from VRChat about how the Avatar Marketplace works. For example, players aren’t guaranteed to get the source code for their Avatars. Other helpful things on that page include the application to upload Avatars for creators who want to, and information about the quality control and VRChat support of the Avatars.
Version 2025.2.2 also includes several bug fixes and adjustments to the base program. This includes world downloads triggering even quicker than before to smooth the loading experience.
Other things that were updated include the following:
- Certain avatar particles won’t spin uncontrollably in the mirror
- Platform indicators have been updated
- Loading screen tooltips have been refreshed
- Better thumbnail resolution when creating Economy listings
- Some button colors have been adjusted to be more visible
Additionally, fallbacks have been removed from VRChat itself, though users can still see them on the website.
Mobile users also got a slew of changes specifically for them, on both Android and iOS. For iOS users, Android worlds will show more accurately. Android users got quite a few changes that players can find on the patch notes here.
