Today Koei Tecmo revealed another character featured in its upcoming dating simulator Venus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme, and it’s Tamaki.
The choice isn’t too surprising, considering that Tamaki has always been one of the fan-favorite and most popular among the original heroines featured in Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation, so much so that she had the unique honor of being picked as a DLC character for Dead or Alive 6.
The announcement was accompanied by a brief trailer, which you can see below. It certainly shows Tamaki in a new light, considering that the shaders and lighting of the new game are more complex compared with the original Venus Vacation.
Tamaki is the fourth heroine revealed for Venus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme, following Misaki, who was the protagonist of the original announcement, Elise, and Fiona.
Two more slots remain, and we’ll learn who the two remaining heroines are over the next couple of weeks. For the moment, all four heroines included in the game are original characters introduced in Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation, with none of the ladies from the Dead or Alive fighting series making an appearance.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that they will not appear at all. DOAXVV has focused a lot on its original heroines, but it has not excluded the existing ones, and Koei Tecmo may have decided to keep them for last to ramp up the hype gradually. We’ll have to wait and see.
Unfortunately, while the game will release in early 2025 for PC, PS5, and PS4, and will include an English localization, it’s very possible that Koei Tecmo will try to exclude the franchise’s Western fans once again as it did with Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation.
Not only did the Western arms of the Yokohama-based developer not say a single word about the game so far, but the Steam page remains geo-locked when accessed from North America and Europe.
With the vast majority of Japanese games (even much smaller ones) making it to the west, nowadays, it’s always disappointing to see when it doesn’t happen.
