Today, Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room released a brand new development diary for their highly anticipated upcoming RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, and it is all about fashion.
While blood-sucking and politics certainly have an important role in the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines series, you can see from the pictures below just how important looks will be as well. Each clan has its own visual identity, which can be seen in the form of each style: Brujah, Tremere, Banu Haqim, and Venture.
- Brujah – rough and ready, wearing denim, leather, and band t-shirts allow the rebellious Kindred to blend into Punk and rock bars.
- Tremere – practical clothing to hide their mage status, letting them control the blood and use ranged attack, which means less restricted clothing and red accessories.
- Banu Haqim – stealth decore that lets them stick to the shadows and move freely in the dark, featuring minimalist outfits made up of scarves, hoods, and pieces to keep them hidden.
- Ventrue – Vampries who flaunt their opulence in their outfits, showing off a wealthy appearance.
When discussing the different outfits, Lead Audio Designer Tessa Verplancke talked about how important it was for different outfits to elicit unique reactions. “Each outfit is curated not only to the clothing they are wearing but the foley (clothes and shoes) are mixed for the clan that said outfit is attributed to. Creating a more stealth-like feeling or the aggressive presence that one might expect between Banu Haqim vs Brujah.”
For those who may not have heard of the title, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is the sequel to an RPG released in 2004. In it, you control a customizable elder vampire located in 21st-century Seattle, known as Phyre.
To survive, you’ll need to use your vampiric to navigate the political dangers of one of four clans, all while feeding on humans to get blood and upgrade your strength. There are a number of different ways to approach each situation, resulting in a variety of different journeys and endings.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will release in the first half of 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
