Today, during a stage event at Chinajoy in Shanghai, Sony Interactive Entertainment presented a fairly extensive look at the gameplay of Unending Dawn.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s a multiplayer open-world action game by Chinese developer Parcae’s Fate Studio.

It was announced a few days ago as one of the three new games within the third phase of Sony’s own China Hero Project.

Today’s gameplay was streamed on PlayStation China’s own Weibo channel and below you can see a recording courtesy of YouTube user GamersPrey.

Interestingly, it appears that the player can control two different characters and switch dynamically between them, and combat appears to be fairly technical, with an intriguing system of parry and riposte.

As the player enters a castle after fighting a few minor enemies we also witness what appears to be a boss battle with a certain level of channel. One thing is for sure: the game looks rather promising.

We already know that the player is set in a world that has been devastated by a cataclysm named “the Day of the Unending Dawn” (hence the title), prompting the player to embark on a journey to find the truth and a ray of hope for humanity.

Speaking of the China Hero Project, yesterday we also got a new look at Lost Soul Aside by Ultizero Games, one of the original games that PlayStation has sponsored since the first phase of the initiative.

On top of that, earlier today we also saw an extensive demo of Astro Bot, the latest game of Sony’s Japan-based Team Asobi.
