We learn that the new character, Izumi (who was actually revealed a while ago at the Arc World Tour), will be released on August 19.

She’s the third character of the season pass, following Uzuki and Ogre.

We also get the first reveal of Izumi’s gameplay, and you can check it out in the trailer below.

Of course, the EVO USA 2025 champion for the game has also been crowned. Defiant defeated BigBlack in an absolutely epic grand final after coming up from the Losers’ final and earning a reset.

In the final round he was actually about to lose, but managed to react and come back, completely obliterating BigBlack’s life bar.

Kotts earned the third place, while Mario ranked fourth after losing against Defiant in the Losers’ final.

You can check out the competition in the recording of the livestream on demand below.

If you’re unfamiliar with Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, it’s the official sequel of Under Night In-Birth, and it was released in January 2024 for PS5, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

The 2D fighting franchise by French Bread debuted all the way back in 2012 and has been quite niche for several years. Yet, it has recently become more well-known, leading to its inclusion as a main event at EVO in 2019 and then in 2024 following the release of Sys:Celes.

The franchise is considered by many to be the king of the 2D anime fighting games.
