Trophy Games announced yesterday that they’ve officially acquired French developer Playrion from Paradox Interactive in the largest deal in the Danish company’s history, adding 30 employees and strengthening its position in the simulation genre.
The deal, financed through internal funds, centers on Playrion’s aviation simulation and management games, including Airlines Manager and Airport Simulator: First Class. Trophy Games plans to develop a new series of simulation titles based on Airport Simulator.
Trophy Games CEO and founder Søren Gleie said the company has tracked Playrion for four years and sees the acquisition as a strong strategic fit, since both companies compete in the same market. The company used a similar approach after acquiring Airline Manager 4 in 2021, building it into a transport management series that now includes six titles and drives company growth.

“By now, we have a recipe for how we can take a game that has already proven there is a market and build an entire series around it. We did that with Airline Manager, and that is the opportunity we now see in Airport Simulator. If we succeed in repeating the model, Playrion can become an entirely new growth pillar for Trophy Games,” says Søren Gleie.
Trophy Games plans to use the same strategy with Airport Simulator, building on its audience and gameplay to create new simulation experiences. Playrion will continue to operate independently from Paris with its 30-person team, while gaining access to their technology, capital, and development resources while also aiming to boost revenue from Playrion’s current games through improved marketing.
The acquisition comes as Trophy Games prepares to launch six new games in the next year, its largest lineup so far. The company reported €8.9 million in cash and no interest-bearing debt at its half-year report, leaving room for further acquisitions as it pursues growth through new titles and larger investments.
After acquiring Playrion, Trophy Games raised its 2026 revenue forecast to between €22.8 million and €24.1 million, up from the previous range of €20.1 million to €22.4 million. The new outlook includes Playrion’s expected contribution for a full quarter and continued performance from the team’s existing games.
