This add-on is a completely new model, distinct from the previously released BR 187, featuring a completed reference trip to capture the main sounds of the loco, such as traction motors, horns, brakes, bogies, HVAC, and pantograph, taken straight from the 147 itself. Specific in-game features include:

  • A brand new model, unrelated to the BR 187 already in-game
  • Train Faults including Pantograph Failure, Wiper Blade stuck and Door Faults on the passenger coaches
  • Audible Passenger Announcements
  • In-depth screen navigation, including displaying your stopping pattern
  • Ergonomic controls – e.g. the AFB toggle is on the AFB Lever itself rather than a separate switch

Route integration will include a new 2018 timetable for the Frankenbahn: Stuttgart-Heilbronn route, replacing the 2000s version. The BR 110 from Bremen – Oldenburg also adds variety, alongside the ‘Karlsruher Kopf’ KaKo cab car. These services will run to and from Bad Wildbad in shorter, more localised runs that provide a distinct change of pace from the mainline.

Train Sim World 6 DB BR 147 also focuses on enhanced realism, boasting high-fidelity audio captured from a real-world unit, including traction motors, horns, brakes, and pantograph sounds. This is further enhanced by interactive cab features, like in-depth screen navigation for modern controls, hiding many standard physical buttons and switches behind digital displays.

The locomotive even supports Train Faults, such as pantograph failure or stuck wipers, as well as Audible Passenger Announcements. Additional AI-only services adding traffic around Stuttgart include:

  • CE 1 from Kassel – Würzburg
  • ICE-T from Frankfurt – Fulda
  • TGV from LGV Méditerranée
  • ÖBB 1116 from Semmeringbahn
  • FlixTrain BR 193
  • DB BR 442 from Köln – Aachen Remastered

Train Sim World 6 DB BR 147 Add-On will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for $17.99 and requires the base game to play.
