Train Sim World 6 Cargo Line Volume 5: Nuclear is all about the modernised Class 20 locomotive and its unique flask wagons. Thanks to the volatile nature of the cargo, the route is run by multiple locomotives at once.

The Class 20/3 is bookends the wagons between the materious to protoct them from any direct impact, with any additional diesel engines added contingency in case of a failure. It represents features circa year 2000 and includes:

  • WIPAC Headlights
  • Modernised cab including NRN and GSM-R equipment
  • (Non-functional) Nuclear Panic Button
  • Removal of headcode discs

The English Electric Type 1 Class 20 locomotive, known to many as Choppers, is located at the rear of the locomotive, featuring controls that face in either direction. It also gives the locos a tank engine-like appearance, with the diesel engine and on-board equipment sitting much as a firebox and boiler would, in front of the cab. It is joined by the FNA-D Nuclear Flask Wagon, new to Train Sim World, which is sandwiched in between both trains.

Wherever possible, the Nuclear train must remain moving and is given high priority across the network. The Add-on simulates the movement of radioactive nuclear material up and down two stretches of the West Coast Main Line: Preston-Carlisle and London-Milton Keynes.

West Coast Main Line: Preston – Carlisle features three scenarios and 14 timetable services, while West Coast Main Line: London – Milton Keynes has two scenarios and four timetable services. It is also important to note that players who own this DLC will be able to use the previously promised Nuclear train services that Rivet Games’ Tyler implemented into the Riviera Line timetable.

Train Sim World 6: Cargo Line Volume 5: Nuclear will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for $16.99 and requires the base game to play. For more information on this Add-on, the game’s upcoming roadmap, and other train simulation content, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
