Today, Creative Assembly had news to share with fans of the Total War franchise in general and Total War: Warhammer 3 in particular.
The next DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3 has been delayed again. Titled “Tides of Torment,” it’ll now release on December 4. This means that it’ll launch a whole year after the previous DLC was released.-
The developers mention that they know this is frustrating for players. It has been a frustrating year overall, but they do not want to repeat past mistakes and want to make sure that the experience is in the best possible condition alongside the accompanying patch 7.0.
That being said, the announce trailer has been shared, and you can see it below. Gameplay will be showcased on December 6.
It’ll feature three legendary lords, Aislinn, Dechala, and Sayl, alongside new content for their factions.
The release of the new DLC isn’t the only thing happening on December 4, as there will be a 25th Anniversary Showcase in which Creative Assembly will announce “the future of Total War,” including “new historical and fantasy titles.”
It’ll be interesting to see if we’ll finally get the new Medieval that fans have been asking to for a long, long time, and what kind of fantasy games will get.
Will it still be Warhammer? If it is, will it still focus on the beloved Old World, or could it perhaps shift to Age of Sh… ahem… Sigmar? Yes. You possibly already know my feelings about this.
For now we may only wonder.
In the meanwhile, following hotfix 6.3.2, the campaign AI for Lizardmen and Tomb Kings has been fixed, but Beastmen, Chaos Dwarfs, Golgfag, and The Changeling, still suffers from issues. Fixing this is being prioritized, but there’s no timeline yet on it.
The next hotfix will be 6.3.3 and information on what it’ll focus is coming at a later date. Of course, this came with the usual ration of apologies that Total War: Warhammer 3 fans are used to by now, but the developers promise that problems of this nature have been reclassified as “showstoppers” that would block a release and have top priority for fixes.
Total War: Warhammer 3 is currently available exclusively for PC.
