Today, Creative Assembly hosted a 25th anniversary showcase, with a couple of announcements for both historical and fantasy Total War fans.
We start with news for Total War: Warhammer 3. Next year, Nagash finally returns with Lord of the End Times. It’ll release in Summer 2026.
Of course, there will be more legendary lords (3 plus one free for everyone) and plenty more content.
Finally, we get to make the travesty that was the “End Times” end in a better way than it did, and at least in our PCs, simply make sure that Age of Sh.. ahem… Sigmar never happens.
Archaon will also get a refresh. You can check out the announcement trailer and a video showing the campaign map.
Interestingly, this is not going to be the last content coming for the game, and we hear that there will be more afterward.
We also hear about the evolution of the engine, Warcore. You can hear about it and see some of the innovations below in the recording of the event.
Interestingly, the new engine will allow bringing Total War games to PlayStation and Xbox.
At long last, we get the announcement of the next historical Total War game, and it’s the much-requested Total War: Medieval 3.
The slightly unfortunate part of the news is that the game is in “early pre-production,” which means it’s likely multiple years away. Below, you can check out a cinematic trailer.
The start date has not been set yet, but it should be around the 12th to 15th century.
Lastly, we got one more tease. The next Total War game will be announced at The Game Awards on December 11. It was defined as the “most ambitious” Total War game ever made.
