Airvan Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

SimWorksStudios released its GippsAero GA8 Airvan. It’s available on the official marketplace for MSFS 2020 only (for now) for $29.99. Yet, it is compatible with MSFS 2024. A native version for MSFS 2024 will come at a later time.

Here’s what it includes

  • Dynamic visual weathering: the aircraft will accumulate dirt and mud over time, even when you aren’t using it!
  • Environmental impact: weathering rate will vary depending on the environment and dirt can be washed away by rain.
  • Persistence: did you leave your visor down yesterday? That’s how you will find it today. Did you leave the sim for a couple of weeks? Your plane might be due for a wash!
  • High-detail 3D model
  • Authentic, high quality sounds recorded a the real Airvan
  • Authentic flight model verified by GA-8 pilots
  • Cargo and passenger cabins
  • Cargo pod and non-cargo pod variants
  • Six liveries
  • Custom tablet, allowing control of the aircraft features and avionics hot-swapping
  • Optional autopilot
  • GTN750Xi and GTN750 support (PC-only)
  • High definition and performance friendly textures
  • Custom lighting

The SystemPulse add-on is also available for $17.49, but it isn’t compatible with MSFS 2024. It’ll work in the new sim when the dedicated native version is released.

Here’s a list of features.

  • Individually simulated components in each system: from the fuel filter to the oil pump, every spare part is independently simulated
  • Realistic wear and tear: from how you fly the airplane, to where you take it everything has an effect on its state. Sand, rain, humidity, temperature, pilot finesse, everything matters!
  • Persistence: aircraft parts will not only remember how you left them, but they will also age when you are not flying the plane! Went on vacation for a week? You might be due for an oil change next time you fire up the sim!
  • More than 70 possible failures on multiple systems:
    • Fuel system: fuel filters, electrical boost pump, engine driven pump
    • Engine: pistons, spark plug failure and fouling, magnetos
    • Accessory housing: gearbox, generator, starter, vacuum pump, RPM indicator
    • Oil system: oil level and consumption, oil pump, filter, leakages, metal chip contamination
    • Propeller: Weathering, governor, prop strike
    • Electrical: alternator, battery, circuits
    • Brakes: total brake failure or stuck brake
