Mitsubishi A6M-2 Zero Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Aeroplane Heaven released its rendition of the A6M-2 Zero for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It’s available on Orbx Direct and the developer’s own store for approximately $25.

It comes with the following features on top of 11 liveries.

  • All new hi-fidelity models with superb detail, including gear wells and wing folds
  • Beautifully crafted exterior and interior models built over contemporary, detailed plans and drawings
  • Authentic cockpit detail includes many bespoke animations and effects
  • Full PBR materials and textures include realistic “pillowing” of metal surfaces
  • RAF and US pilots included for those specific liveries
  • Choice of bomb or exterior tank
  • Highly accurate flight dynamics and performance based on real flight tests
  • Specially in-house authored WWise Hi-Fidelity sound package
  • Unique code to “iron” out poor simulator tail-dragger performance
  • 11 LIVERIES
    • AI-155 ( IJN Akagi 1st wave fighter squadron leader )
    • AI-102 ( IJN Akagi )
    • 6th Kokutai deployed in Rabaul 1942

It’s worth mentioning that MSFS 2024 compatibility is included with the following caveats:

  • Glass reticle and sight are barely see-through, and glass in general.
  • The crash fire effect is upside down. Rumoured to be fixed in SU3 Beta.
  • Sounds are more muffled.
  • Along with the usual issues that an MSFS 2020 plane has in MSFS 2024.

Brisbane International Airport V2 Released for X-Plane 12

Orbx released v2 of its Brisbane International Airport for X-Plane 12. It’s available on Orbx Direct for $16.29 with a limited-time launch discount. Owners of the previous version get a 70% discount to upgrade.

It comes with the following features.

  • Updated airport layout as of June 2024
  • New updated High-resolution Orthophoto with June 2024 Satellite Imagery
  • New Terminal Buildings and Control Tower Models with interiors
  • Fully reworked all airport landsides and surrounding areas with extra detail and new custom buildings
  • New custom tunnel under taxiways Y and Z
  • New roads and elevated highways with default traffic
  • Improved 3d animated vegetation
  • New high-detail Ground Poly on all areas
  • Updated and improved custom mesh
  • Added overwater approach lighting system at RWY19R

Manu’a Islands Scenery and Airports Announced for MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020

Kiwiflightsim announced a scenery package for Manu’a Islands in American Samoa, including two airports, Ofu Airport (NSAS) and Fitiuta Airport (NSFQ). It’ll be released “soon.”

Here’s a summary of what you can expect.

“Discover the remote beauty of the Manuʻa Islands with this handcrafted scenery pack featuring both Ofu Airport (NSAS) and Fitiuta Airport (NSFQ) in American Samoa. From the iconic Asaga Bridge linking Ofu and Olosega to the rugged volcanic coastlines and dramatic ocean surroundings, this scenery captures the charm and isolation of these Pacific gems.

Each airport includes custom-built terminals, realistic layouts, and region-specific details that bring the islands to life. Animated flags and windsocks respond dynamically to local weather, enhancing immersion as you approach these short, scenic runways.

With detailed structures, atmospheric lighting, and a strong focus on authenticity, the Manuʻa Islands scenery is the perfect destination for your next island-hopping adventure.”

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Canceled by Verticalsim

Microsoft Flight Simulator KFLL Canceled

Verticalsim decided to cancel its previously announced Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (KFLL) for Microsoft Flight Simulator. You can read the developer’s motivation in the image above.

The developer mentioned that it’ll focus on releasing Palm Beach International Airport and will also reveal an updated roadmap for 2025 down the line.

Trujillo Airport Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Low-end PC Studios released the Microsoft Flight Simulator version of its Capitán FAP Carlos Martínez de Pinillos International Airport (SPRU) serving Trujillo in Peru.

It’s available on Simmarket for $10.32, including the following features.

  • Project Mesh for Ground Textures 
  • PBR material for important Objects 
  • custom Runway elevation profile 
  • 3d objects 
  • FPS friendly
