Microsoft Releases Update 1.1.9.0 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Microsoft released the first post-launch update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, also claiming that things are going better following the rocky launch of the sim in a message signed by Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann himself.

Good news: we’ve made continued improvements that provide smoother access to the simulator. We have also deployed a hotfix that further increases stability and addresses the player experience by fixing critical issues. We will continue to investigate any issues and keep the community informed. Thank you again for your ongoing support and enjoy your time in the skies.

The patch notes for the update are as follows:

Stability & Performance

  • Fixed a crash when you selected “As Arrival” in the EFB
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when closing and invoking the Camera menu after changing the Drone focus mode option to a value other than undefined
  • Fixed various crashes across the title

General Bug Fixes

  • Fixed missing cursor on Xbox Live sign-in popup
  • Fixed an issue where you could lose focus when creating a new input profile.
  • Aircraft selection is accessible via the control menu, but can only be changed from the home page.
  • Fixed an issue where you could get stuck when accessing the menu bar from any help page.

Boeing 757 Showcased in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Bluebird Simulations released a video showcasing its upcoming Boeing 757 during the initial testing in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport Announced for X-Plane

Fly2High announced a rendition for X-Plane of Jackson–Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (KJAN) in the United States.

While no release date has been announced, we get a few screenshots, which you can see above.

Red Sea International Airport and Red Sea Resorts Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Tuwaiq Designs released two different add-ons dedicated to the Red Sea area for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The first is Red Sea International Airport (OERS) in Saudi Arabia, available on Simmarket for $25.67. It includes the following features.

  • Realistic 3D Modeling: Accurate Terminal Modeling, Terminal Interior and Service buildings modeled with stunning attention to detail.
  • PBR Textures: Physically-Based Rendering (PBR) textures for true-to-life reflections and materials, enhancing the visual depth and realism of every structure.
  • Hand Made Ground Textures: High-resolution textures for runways, taxiways, and aprons, capturing the wear and tear, Gate markings, and surface variations seen in real-world operations.
  • Dynamic Night Lighting: Immersive night environment with realistic lighting on taxiways, aprons, and terminal areas, making for dramatic and visually striking night flights.
  • GSX Objects: Integrated GSX objects, including ground vehicles, air stairs and service carts, to improve immersion and provide accurate ground handling operations.

The second package is Red Sea Resorts, portraying some of the resorts on Saudi Arabia’s coast, available on Simmarket for $12.83. It includes the following features.

  • Saint Regis Resort: A showcase of elegance, featuring iconic overwater villas and private beachfront villas modeled with stunning accuracy.
  • Ritz-Carlton Nujuma: This ultra-luxurious island retreat, One of the most expensive hotels in the Middle East comes to life with its signature design and unmatched attention to detail.
  • Shebara Resort: A masterpiece of modern architecture, Villas made from bent Stainless Steal beautifully blending into the pristine Red Sea environment.
  • Water Landing Docks; Custom Modeled landing Water Docks at each of these resorts for transport from the Red Sea Airport to the Resorts Fly to the height of luxury. With The Red Sea Resorts, you’re not just landing at a destination—you’re discovering the future of sustainable tourism and exclusive escapes.

John A. Osborne Airport Released for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

SLH Sim Designs released a version of its John A. Osborne Airport (TRPG) serving the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat in the Caribbean rebuilt for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

It’s available on Simmarket for $11.54, but if you have the developer’s version of the airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, you get the upgrade for free. It includes the following features.

  • 3D Custom Modeling
  • 4k PBR Textures
  • Custom Animated Vehicles and Wildlife (Goats, Chickens)
  • Dynamic Lighting
  • Corrected Terrain Elevations
  • Modelled Terminal Interior
  • Custom Taxiway Signs
  • Realistic Ground texturing and grunge.
  • Added Static Sea Traffic

Ibiza and Palm Springs announced for Microsoft Flight Simulator

iniBuilds announced two airports upgraded for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Ibiza (LEIB) in Spain and Palm Springs (KPSP) in the US.

They’re priced respectively $20.18 and $21.44, but previous users of the Microsoft Flight Simulator version will only have to pay £4.99 plus vat as an upgrade fee for each airport.
