Saab 340 and 2000 for Microsoft Flight Simulator Get New Screenshots and a Development Update

Microsoft Flight Simulator S340

NextGen Simulations provided an extensive update about its upcoming aircraft, starting with the Saab 340, which will come with 8K textures, decals, and dynamic tail registration numbers.

While the exterior is complete, the developer is now working on the cabin and flight deck modeling and texturing. It’ll have both FMS and GPS options. The GPS options will include Working Title’s GNS, the PMS50 GTN, and the TDS GTNXI.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 version will include the Collins FMS from the default CJ4, while the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 version will include the same plus the default UNS-1.

We also get to see the Saab 2000, but only via renders. The exterior model is almost complete and you can check it out below.

The two models will be sold separately from each other, initially for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (also forward-compatible for MSFS2024). They’ll then come for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. At the moment, the developer has not decided if there will be an upgrade fee or not.

The Saab 340 should come around late Q1 2025 or mid-Q2. Available liveries will be as follows.

  • Europe: Flybe (both blue and purple) and Loganair (UK), NextJet and Skyways (SE), Estonian Air (EE), Sprint Air (PL), Scandinavian (DK-SE-NO), Crossair (CH)
  • North America: Pascan and Pacific Coastal (CA); Silver Airways, Delta Connection, NWA Airlink, United Express, US Airways Express and American Eagle (US); Seaborne (PR)
  • Oceania: Rex Airlines and Link Airways (AU), ANZ Link (NZ)
  • Latin America: Aerolitoral (MX), Aerotaca (CO) and SOL Lineas Aereas (AR)
  • Africa: Kenya Airways (KE)
  • Asia: Japan Air Commuter (JP)

The Saab 2000 will come later and should have the following liveries.

  • Europe: Crossair, Darwin Airline and Swiss (CH), Flybe, British Airways, Eastern Airways and Loganair (UK), Blue1 (FI), Braathens and Malmö Aviation (SE), Frost Air (DK), Portugalia (PT), Scandinavian (DK-SE-NO)
  • North America: Air Charter Express, Aleutian Airways, and Pen Air (US)

The final list is subject to possible changes.

Incidentally, the developer’s Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante works on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 besides two “minor but critical issues” that will be fixed via patch 1.6.3 which should come after the developer returns to the office from a family commitment on November 28.
