Boeing 747 by PMDG for MSFS 2024 Gets Teaser Screenshot

PMDG revealed a work-in-progress look at the upcoming 747 for MSFS 20204. It’s definitely not final, but it provides an interesting glimpse of the level of detail of the wings.
If you’re wondering what you’re looking at, you can check out the explanation, written directly by PMDG CEO Robert Randazzo.
“Since it is the last gap of summer and it is just us, I thought perhaps a little random screenshot that I took during my work counting rivets tonight. In case you don’t understand what you are looking at here, take a look at the edge gaps, the different types of rivets, the seam detail including the black sealant that gets applied to ensure clean mating of different surfaces to reduce the risk of water intrusion and corrosion. (That sealant makes quite a mess later in the airplane’s life, with long chalky-black soot streaks as it breaks down and smears across the surface of the wing.)
If you look closely, you can also see the slight surface texture of the applied paint, and a nice, pleasing gap between the major wing form panels along the spar (Where the double rows of rivets are.) This wing is fresh out of the paint shop, and doesn’t have a single hour of test flight time on it- so yes it is supposed to be that clean. We’ll give you plenty of dirt and grime- so those who like that sort of thing, don’t fret. (Which is a fun way of saying this is a really early iteration of the texture set- so it is missing details still and hasn’t got a spec of dirt on it yet… I just figured you might like to see where things are heading!)”
