InterStudio has announced that The Vernyhorn, its upcoming open-world RPG, will support DLSS 4.5 and Ray Tracing on launch.
The Vernyhorn is a classic open-world RPG with an impactful narrative set in the early Middle Ages. It features the early myths, beliefs, and brutal societies of early Slavic Society.
The game also features gorgeous locations, impactful dialogue, and moments that set the scene (whether that’s with humor or irony at times). It’s inspired by franchises like Baldur’s Gate and The Witcher, though it also takes inspiration from cinema, like the works of Robert Eggers and Ridley Scott.
The world in The Vernyhorn is meant to be gritty, raw, and realistic. That’s where Nvidia DLSS 4.5 and Ray Tracing features will help, giving players the atmospheric Slavic world with 4k precision and high frame rates, whether players are fighting enemies or exploring.
Speaking of exploring, the world in The Vernyhorn came about as the team explored Poland to scan real-life locations. This included the sounds from these areas, whether that’s leaves, streams, thunder, or wind. Together, these work to create the ambience that these locations have in real life.
Another realistic feature in The Vernyhorn is its combat. Not only will players utilize weapons, but they’ll use their bodies as weapons, too. Headbutts, kicks, chokes, and more are available to use if a player’s weapon isn’t out.
To celebrate the DLSS 4.5 and Ray Tracing announcement, The Vernyhorn showed off a new trailer at GDC 2026, which players can view below:
The Vernyhorn has no release date, but it’s expected to come to PC in chapters, starting in mid 2027 (though this is a very rough estimate).
