Today, Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe released The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 is a substantial free release, adding several new features and over 1,100 improvements and fixes to the dark fantasy action RPG. The update even adds a way to reset abilities, a new Story difficulty with additional combat assistance, expanded subtitle options, and numerous adjustments to combat, exploration, and overall stability.

One of the main additions is the Draught of Mind Rebirth, which lets players reset abilities learned through Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism and reallocate their progression toward a different set of skills. The update also introduces animal petting, giving players another way to interact with the game’s world.

The difficulty settings have also been revised considerably, as the previous Story difficulty is renamed Forgiving, and a new Story mode is introduced with additional combat assistance. Players can also increase subtitle font sizes and enable subtitles for all dialogue lines, adding more accessibility options.

Combat receives several adjustments, including revised animations and camera movements, improved enemy targeting and lock-on behavior, and better handling when disengaging from fights. Shadowstep and Planeshift have also been improved to make targeting and surface attachment more responsive.

Other gameplay changes include a new Buyback feature when trading with merchants, controller deadzone settings, rebalanced equipment upgrade costs, and the ability to equip the same items in both day and night presets. The update also reduces the health of boars and wolves at higher levels and includes dedicated settings for the game’s Frame Generation technology.

The patch delivers extensive fixes across quests, gameplay systems, visual presentation, audio, and stability. These address progression blockers, characters becoming stuck or behaving incorrectly, enemies failing to engage in combat, misplaced objects, inconsistent animations, and various map and collision issues. Several crashes, infinite loading screens, performance drops, and controller-related problems have also been resolved.

The Japanese Steam version will also no longer censor blood and gore. One known issue that is still under investigation is that The Blood of Dawnwalker may crash when switching Frame Generation from off to on an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For more info on this and other similar action-RPG titles, check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
