Rebel Wolves today unveiled a new overview trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, the studio’s upcoming single-player dark fantasy action RPG. The trailer highlights the game’s story, setting, characters, time-based mechanics, exploration, and combat.
Set in 14th-century Europe during the Black Death, The Blood of Dawnwalker takes place in the isolated valley of Veale Sangora. Here, the vampire lord Brenus exploits the chaos to seize power, carving the region into three rival vampire dominions.
Players step into the role of Coen, a young man turned Dawnwalker, caught between human and vampire existence. When Brenus kidnaps his family, Coen must harness his new abilities to challenge the vampire regime and attempt a rescue.
A core mechanic is the 30-day and 30-night time limit. Every action, from exploration and quests to learning skills and upgrading equipment, advances the clock, so players will need multiple playthroughs to see everything. Coen’s abilities shift between day and night, with human and vampire forms offering unique advantages.
Player choice plays a major role in the experience, as disrupting the vampire regime can cause Brenus’s court to issue new edicts that alter the challenges players face. Exploration includes activities such as attacking enemy camps, rescuing civilians, investigating haunted locations, and traveling across the world in wolf form at night, while increasing Coen’s infamy can even unlock new quest lines.
Combat combines directional swordplay with supernatural abilities, letting players attack from four directions to break through enemy defenses, while parrying and successful attacks help charge special abilities. Coen can also drink human or animal blood to restore health and increase corruption, allowing him to unlock powerful vampire perks.
Three skill trees cover human abilities, vampire powers, and shared upgrades, letting players customize Coen’s development to suit their combat and exploration style. The Blood of Dawnwalker launches September 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
