This should come as no surprise to anyone that pays attention to the esports fighting scene, with Tekken 8 often competing with titles like Street Fighter 6 for the crown of biggest fighting game in the world. This will be the second time the game has been featured for the event, which is set to take place later this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 7 – August 24.

So far, the titles that have been announced include League of Legends, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty Warzone, Free Fire, Street Fighter 6, Rainbow Six Siege, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike 2, PUBG Mobile, Valorant, Overwatch 2, EA Sports FC 25, Rocket League, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang& Female), and Chess.

The Esports World Cup 2025 $60 million prize pool, with each title featuring a $1,250,000 prize pool that will be distributed in the following ways:

  • 1st Place: $500,000
  • 2nd Place: $230,000
  • 3rd-4th Place: $100,000 each
  • 5th-8th Place: $40,000 each
  • 9th-16th Place: $20,000 each

Qualifiers are already underway for players and teams, requiring them to compete in multiple events via one of these three formats: a knockout stage, a points rush, and a grand final. Anyone interested in attending can purchase weekly tickets now, which will give access to view whatever competition is going on for that week and access to over 35 games to play on the activity floor.

The Esports World Cup foundation also recently announced the 40 teams that it has selected for its 2025 partner program, many of which will be competing in Saudi Arabia for the upcoming games. For more information on this and everything else esports, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
