Today, Greenheart Games revealed that after being in development for over 11 years, its fantasy business management sim, Tavern Keeper, will be launching on Steam in Early Access on November 3, 2025.
As the name suggests, Tavern Keeper places players in the shoes of a tavern owner set in a fantastic world, tasking them with running the business and interacting with plenty of humorous patrons. The business management sim blends the chaotic and cozy of business management sim, creative decoration sandbox, and magical storybook.
Gameplay lets you customize just about every aspect of the business, meaning you can micromanage every detail or simply relax and decorate to their heart’s content. You can check out the official story trailer below.

When commenting on the upcoming release and the long development of Tavern Keeper, Greenheart Games Co-Founder and Director Patrick Klug stated the following:
“After 11 years we’re ready to open the doors to our follow-up to Game Dev Tycoon. Our hybrid management sim, witty RPG and decoration sandbox game Tavern Keeper, will launch into Early Access in November”, said Klug. “It’s been a long journey, and we’re thrilled that players can soon experience what we’ve been crafting for them over so many years.”
A newly updated demo for Tavern Keeper is currently available on Steam, just in time for the October’s Next Fest event. In it, you’ll be able to experience the intro to the game and carry over your save data while also getting a preview of the Item Workshop, Freeplay mode, and humorous storyline that the game will have to offer.
Currently, there is no exact release price for the Early Access debut, but it can at least be wishlisted ahead of next month. Greenheart Games has also yet to give any specific roadmap plans for the rest of 2025 and beyond, so be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for any updates.
