According to the announcement, the game will launch in early access on Steam in Q1 2026.

Below, you can check out a development roadmap for that build. We also hear the reason why the developer decided to go with early access.

First of all, they feel they owe a version of the game in the ballpark of what was promised to those who pledged on Kickstarter.

On top of that, the campaign was very successful, with a plenty of stretch goals achieved, which introduces the need to develop all these features gradually.

The price will also increase step by step alongside the level of completion of the game.

Task Force Admiral Early Access

The developers will focus on finishing as many gameplay features as early as possible, including the core FPS and campaign experiences. Animated crew is the only exception to this, and it will be in despite not being core gameplay, since it was a much-awaited, popular addition that increases immersion.

Currently, the focus is on implementing Midway, at least on the Carrier side of the action, which will result in “a scenario where dozens of ships and literally hundreds of aircraft will clash with each other.” It’ll be provided to beta testers as soon as possible.

Below you can check out a few screenshots.

Task Force Admiral

If you’re unfamiliar with Task Force Admiral – Vol.1: American Carrier Battles, it’s one of the first strategy simulation games revealed under MicroProse‘s umbrella when the historical publisher was officially revived in 2019

It’s coming for PC, and no other platforms have been announced at the time of this writing.

Full disclosure: the author of this post scrambled to back Task Force Admiral as soon as the Kickstarter campaign was made available.
