According to the documents shared by the publisher, net bookings were $1.96 billion, “vastly” surpassing the company’s expectations. It’s also a record for Q2 net bookings in the company’s history.

Net bookings from recurrent consumer spending (DLC and similar services) grew  20% year-on-year and accounted for 73% of total net bookings.

As it did in the previous quarter, Take-Two turned a loss for Q2, specifically $115.5 million.

As usual, we get a comment from Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick. who announced a delay to November 19, 2026, for Grand Theft Auto 6. He also mentioned the new net bookings forecast for the full fiscal year, which is now increased to a range between $6.4 and $6.5 billion.

“We achieved outstanding second-quarter results by releasing new hit titles, driving innovation in live services, and maintaining our commitment to developing the highest quality products. With momentum across our business, particularly in mobile and NBA 2K, we are raising our Fiscal Year 2026 Net Bookings forecast for the second consecutive quarter.

Rockstar Games will now release Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026, and we remain both excited and confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience. With the most robust pipeline in our Company’s history, we expect to achieve record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2027, which will establish a new baseline for our business and set us on a path of enhanced profitability.”

The games that most contributed to the net bookings results listed above were NBA 2K26 and NBA 2K25, Borderlands 4, Toon Blast, Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V, Match Factory!, Color Block Jam, Mafia: The Old Country, Empires & Puzzles, Words With Friends, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, and Toy Blast.

Moving on to specific sales, GTA5 has now shipped a mindboggling 220 million units, carrying the franchise’s cumulative sales to nearly 460 million units. Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped over 79 million units, with the series having sold over 106 million units.

We also hear that NBA 2K26 has shipped over 5 million units.

Incidentally, we learn that the latest trailer for GTA6 was the biggest video launch of all time, with over 475 million views in 24 hours.

Lastly, we can take a look at a breakdown of the games in development at Take-Two and its brands. There are no substantial changes compared to the previous reveal in August.
