According to the documents provided by the publisher, revenue was 224,839 million yen (up 22.1% year-on-year), while operating profit was 64,268 million yen (28.9% year-on-year).

The Digital Entertainment business segment, which includes games and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, took as usual the lion’s share of these numbers with 168,777 million yen in sales (up 28.2% year-on-year) and 61,378 million yen in business profit (up 31.6% year-on-year).

We hear that both revenue and profit were record-high for the first half of the year, and it’s the second year in a row in which this happens, “mainly driven by the continued strong performance of key titles in the Digital Entertainment business.”

The company mentions that both Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and Silent Hill f “have been well received by many customers, achieving initial sales exceeding one million units worldwide.”

The eFootball series has passed 900 million cumulative downloads, while Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel has surpassed 90 million cumulative downloads.

Incidentally, despite the strong results, no change has been made to the forecast for the full fiscal year, which expects total revenue of 430,000 million yen and business profit of 114,000 million yen, which would both show growth compared to the 421,602 million yen in revenue and business profit of 109,110 million yen achieved in the past fiscal year.

For the Digital Entertainment business, the expectation hasn’t changed either, with 310,000 million yen in revenue and 103,000 million yen in business profit. Both would feature growth compared to the 305,187 million yen in revenue and 98,935 million yen in business profit achieved in FY 2025.

Considering that the company is over halfway through to these results with half of the year and the holiday quarter still to go, it’ll be interesting to see if the guidance will be significantly exceeded when all is said and done.

If you’d like to compare these results with historical data, you can read our report about the past fiscal year, based on data released in July.

Other gaming companies have already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo, Electronic Arts, Capcom, and Microsoft. You can expect plenty more reports on this topic in the coming days and weeks.
