The Super Premier Japan step of the Street Fighter 6 Capcom Pro Tour has concluded and crowned its winner, Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi.
The 39-year-old veteran professional fighting game player dominated his way into the Top 8, ultimately defeating Leshar from South Korea, who was coming from losers final.
Both have earned themselves a spot in the Capcom Cup 11, which will be hosted from March 5 to March 9, 2025, at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
If you’re wondering, that’s where the prestigious national sumo tournaments are held. It’s certainly a very flattering venue for a fighting game tournament and underlines the importance of the Capcom Cup in Japan, alongside the respect that the fighting game esports scene has managed to earn itself.
Tokido belongs to Team Reject, which provided the picture at the top of the post via press release. Below you can find the full top-8 results.
As you can see, Tokido only conceded two matches across the whole Top 8, which is certainly impressive.

The game will soon receive Terry Bogard from SNK’s Fatal Fury series as a guest DLC character, followed by Mai Shiranui, while it will return the favor with Chun-Li and Ken, who will appear in the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
