Starsand Island Reveals In-Depth Look At Building System

Seed Sparkle Lab is counting down the days until Starsand Island releases in Early Access and sharing news along the way, and today it revealed a new look at the in-depth building system in the farming/life sim.

Players can start building their home from the very foundation. Interiors and exteriors are fully integrated, which means there are no loading times so players can go between the two without any problems. This makes building and decorating seamless and precise.

When building, players are able to choose the time of day, weather, and lighting to check out what the home looks like at any time.

There’s also a terrain editing feature that lets players do things like create hills, lakes, and gardens. Players can even lay out roads across the island, giving them even more control over their virtual paradise.

The walls and floors of the player’s home can be decorated with nearly every material in the game. There are almost 1,000 decorative items to find and use, including themed items.

Seed Sparkle Lab acknowledged that some players felt overwhelmed with the building system previously, so things have been fine-tuned and streamlined to make it easier to understand. Additionally, a guide will help players learn the system.

Additionally, there are preset builds that players can use to create their home. Players will also be able to save their own creations to use across save files.

Starsand Island building

Starsand Island is set to release in Early Access on PC on February 11, 2026. A full release is planned for Summer 2026, and it’ll launch then on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
