Today, the team behind The End of The Sun revealed that the first-person Slavic mythological adventure game would be released for PC on January 29, 2025.
The End of the Sun places players in the shoes of the ashter, a Slavic sage sorcerer gifted with unique powers. The gameplay will have you exploring multiple mysteries across all four seasons, using time travel and knowledge of other worlds to solve challenging puzzles and progress the Slavic folklore-inspired story.
The story will be non-linear, allowing you to explore the world at your own pace, meaning no two playthroughs will be alike.
As you can see in the trailer above, The End of the Sun also places a heavy emphasis on photorealism. To accomplish this, the developers traveled to ethnographic museums and scanned hundreds of objects and entire buildings so you can admire them in the game the way they actually are.
The End of The Sun was originally announced back in August 2018, eventually gaining traction due to a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2020, where they managed to eclipse their original goal, earning 150% of it by raising $18,001 from 741 backers. Since then, multiple demos have been released, including one during Steam Next Fest in 2022 and the Indie Festival in June 2024.
At the moment, there is no price point for The End of The Sun available on Steam, though you can add it to your wishlist. For more information on this and titles coming to PC in 2025, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
