Today, the developers of Skyblivion, the fan remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, have released a new video showing perhaps the most iconic part of the original game.
Specifically, we get to see the escape from the Imperial City’s prison and the fateful meeting with Emperor Uriel Septim.
The video takes advantage of such an iconic sequence to show several aspects of Skyblivion, including the updated character models, the overhauled armor and weapons, the updated lockpicking interface (which adds elements from The Elder Scrolls Online), the new sound design, and the enhanced environmental storytelling.
The dungeons have also been changed so that they look and sound different depending on the region they belong to. We even get to see the new loading screens and the remade birthsign and class menus.
You can check out the video below and enjoy watching one of gaming’s most iconic sequences with a completely new look.
While the developers say that the game is in the final stretch of development, they’re still recruiting volunteers to speed things up, and those who have useful skills can apply on the official website.
Of course, being a mod, Skyblivion will come only for PC, and it’s targeting a release later this year. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that it’s a completely separate project compared to the official remaster was launched a few months ago.
While we wait for more information, you can also check out an earlier video and another, providing a visual timeline of the progress made.
