As of today, tier 3 fishing ships will now have Fish Production Lines, allowing players to transport fresh caught and ungutted fish from the bleeding box on the work deck to the production line. You can take a look at the work-in-progress images of the new feature and a breakdown of the gutting station right down below:

  • Pick up fish from the conveyor belt: Position yourself at the gutting table to retrieve fish for processing.
  • Gutting Station: Use a knife to gut the fish.
  • Return to the Conveyor Belt: Once gutted, the fish is placed back on the top conveyor belt, where it is transported to the storage room. The storage room allows players to organize and store gutted fish in boxes, ensuring a streamlined and organized workflow.

Players will have complete control over the production line, as they can press a start/stop button that will open and close their hatch. This helps control how much fresh fish spawns on the conveyor belt up until the gutting process is complete.

Misc Games also teased expanding these stations a bit more in the future that will make the process automated. Using specific upgrades, players can feed fresh fish directly into the machine, which will then gutt them automatically and make them ready for storage.

Ships at Sea is currently available now in early access via Steam starting at $24.99. It originally launched back in 2023, adding plenty of new content to the game monthly with three significant additions since August: tier 2 cranes, MacDuff partnership, and co-op play.
