Astragon Entertainment announced the early access release date of the naval simulator Seafarer: The Ship Sim.
The game will launch in early access on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 7, 2025.
A closed beta is already underway and will end on August 18. The game will be publicly playable for the first time at Gamescom in Cologne later this month.
A trailer was released to celebrate, showing the visuals off. You can watch it below and take a look at the ships you’ll be able to enjoy in the game.
The simulator features a massive open-world map inspired by the seas around Northern Europe, including a variety of harbors and cities.
You can choose between different factions to further your naval career, each offering a variety of missions, challenges, and rewards.Â
You can play the extensive Story Mode featuring narrative gameplay that will let you meet all the factions over several missions. Of course, you can also just jump into Quickplay Mode to sail right away.
Of course, there is also a variety of ships you can command, including small vessels and massive container ships. They have plenty of simulated elements, including engines, cranes, and even water cannons.
Visually, Seafarer: The Ship Sim features Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA WaveWorks 2.0, offering both visual quality and solid wave simulation. The trailer above should help you get a good idea of how good the game looks.
Dynamic weather, which makes every outing different, and character customization to create your own captain complete the list of features.
