The trailer provides a look at some of the highly detailed Cold War-era aircraft and ships that will be included in the title.

Interestingly, this includes units from minor powers like Iran and Iraq, while the skies will also be populated by civilian airliners.

You can watch it below.

On top of the trailer, we also get a post on Steam providing some fresh development information.

The first two screenshots in the gallery below show Dublin Bay before and after custom modifications made with new map design tools. The developers plan to have bespoke important ports created by hand and then generic templates to populate less relevant ones while still keeping the map lively.

The team is also working on creating more SAMs and AAA for NATO countries, and air combat and ground attack maneuvers so that aircraft piloted by the AI will behave in a visually appealing and realistic way as they fight.

The terrain has also been updated with new tree shading and shadows.

The game certainly looks very impressive, and nowadays we don’t get many good Cold War strategy simulations, so this shows plenty of promise.

If you’re unfamiliar with Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age, it’s coming to PC, but it doesn’t yet have a release date. It was one of the first announced among MicroProse’s catalog of games after the brand was revived in relatively recent times.

Of course, if you’re interested in flying these aircraft yourself, you can read our introductory guide to flight simulation, alongside the second episode focusing on installing add-ons, and another showcasing the basic instruments.

You can also enjoy plenty of flight simulation news in yesterday’s roundup article.
