Today the developers of the popular indoor cycling app Rouvy published a video introducing the features that will come with the next update.
The first feature is a notification center that will include event reminders, new bike releases, challenge progress, and achievement unlocks.
We also get to see wheelset customization, allowing to set different parameters for each ride.
The user menu has been improved to make navigation smoother and faster. On top of that, more achievements have been added including some awarded for successfully completing routes from unique countries.
Integration with third-party training platform is also being progressively implemented, letting you import activities and workouts.
You can watch the video below and let Product Director Marek-Martin Matyska walk you through the update.
If you’re unfamiliar with Rouvy, it’s a popular app developed in the Czech Republic and used alongside training smart bikes (or bike trainers) joining real-world workouts with simulation and an aspect of gaming, as players are challenged to ride on iconic routes around the world, which are displayed on their devices.
It’s an interesting way to bike indoors and associate a good workout with the immersion of riding in a scenic location, and a good alternative to watching Netflix while you pedal. It pretty much turns your trainer or training smart bike into a sort of simulator with achievements and challenges.
The app is currently available for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, iPad, and Apple TV. It requires a subscription with a few different options available, albeit a 7-day free trial is available.
