Koei Tecmo has revealed the Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack bundle to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series, introducing new features to the tactical sim.
The Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack bundle will add quite a bit of new content to the game with the new expansion pack, including Gems and Turning Points. Gems are items that change based on character growth, while Turning Points create situations for players to react to, such as disasters.
There are also new traits, events, Parliament and City commands, and five new scenarios. Additionally, the in-game editing has been enhanced and Chinese voiceovers added.
Two of the scenarios have been detailed on the official website:
- Guan Yu Advances Scenario (pre-order bonus)
- Loyal Han retainer Ma Teng (early purchase bonus for those who purchase the bundle two weeks prior to the release)

The Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack bundle will be released on January 29, 2026, to celebrate the series 40th anniversary. Players will also be able to purchase the Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack on its own if they already have the remake.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake was first released last year, and it’s available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
