Today, the Esports World Cup revealed that Rennsport will be the first official racing title to join the lineup of games players will compete in as a part of the 2025 event.
For those unfamiliar with Rennsport, it is a racing series that places a large emphasis on hyper-realistic gameplay. It entered Steam early access back on June 6, 2023, has received numerous updates and patches, and has been used in numerous racing simulation competitions worldwide.
Qualifiers for the Rennsport section of the event will take place all the way to the lead-up to the Esports World Cup 2025, which is set to take place from June 2025 to August 2025 in Saudi Arabia. This is the second time the event has taken place, as it is replacing the Gamer8 Esports Festival from the Saudi Esports Federation, which started in 2022.
The competition will last two weeks and include a $60 million prize pool, making it one of the largest in the world. Each title will feature a $1,250,000 prize pool with a distribution as follows:
- 1st Place: $500,000
- 2nd Place: $230,000
- 3rd-4th Place: $100,000 each
- 5th-8th Place: $40,000 each
- 9th-16th Place: $20,000 each
Rennsports becomes the 17th official game announced for the Esports World Cup 2025, meaning there are only seven slots left to be filled to reach the full list of 24.
So far, the titles that have been announced include Honor of Kings, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty Warzone, Free Fire, Street Fighter 6, Rainbow Six Siege, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike 2, PUBG Mobile, Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, EA Sports FC 25, Rocket League, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang& Female), and Chess.
