Today, Korean developer Shift Up of Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke fame revealed its next game, code-named “Project Spirits.”
The game was previously known by another code name, “Project Witches”, and it has been teased for a few months. We knew it would be revealed in June, and it indeed happened.
It’s described as Shift Up’s new flagship game, and a subculture-style cross-platform game that focuses on the concept of “Eastern Fantasy.”
It’s a new IP and it’s currently in development with the aim to be a top-tier, high quality game for a worldwide audience.
Below, you can check out the game’s key artwork, published by Shift Up itself. It certainly exhibits the style of Kim Hyung Tae, Shift Up’s owner and founder.

Shift Up is hiring for several positions for the game, and interestingly, among the preferential qualifications, it includes gamers who enjoy Genshin Impact, Dynasty Warriors, Zenless Zone Zero, Ghost of Tsushima, Goddess of Victory: Nikke, and Stella Blade, for art-related roles.
For narrative-related roles, the list of games includes Genshin Impact, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and Zenless Zone Zero.
If you’re unfamiliar with Shift Up, it’s a Seoul-based developer founded in 2013 by renowned artist Kim Hyung Tae, whom you may know for his distinctive style and his work on popular games like Magna Carta and Blade and Soul.
The studio’s most popular games are Stellar Blade and Goddess of Victory: Nikke, but it previously worked on another mobile gacha game, Destiny Child.
At the moment, no further information about the game has been provided, but considering the large fanbase Shift Up has managed to gather through its latest games, it’s doubtless that many will be excited for this new project.
